Welcome to the Dawson’s Experience, we hope that you are as excited about your visit as we are. At Dawson’s, there’s always enough to keep you busy, or little enough to keep you relaxed.

Below is a list of activities that you could look forward to:

  • This is a great activity for families to enjoy together as well as corporate groups as part of a team building exercise. We offer some thrilling and exceptionally beautiful trails with something for everyone to enjoy.

  • Dawsons does not have any dangerous animals on the property, so it is the ideal opportunity to view in complete safety the abundance of Game , Paper Bark Trees and Aloes on the many Plains.  Our daily Bush drives will also provide you with the opportunity to either walk from a point or enjoy a unique bush picnic set up on top of a hill overlooking the valley.

  • In no time a total novice will be hitting the target in good groupings and notching respectable scores thanks to the expert tuition of our experienced instructors.

  • While away the hours by doing what comes naturally at one of our well-stocked dams. Let us offer you expert tuition or set up a gourmet picnic for you to enjoy whilst you practice the art of casting. If you would like to enjoy eating the fish you caught our kitchen would be more than happy to cook it for you.

  • The hiking or walking opportunities on Dawson’s are endless. Walk along the old water canals to a spectacular waterfall or climb to Leonard’s Rock, the highest point of the surrounding mountains, and enjoy the magnificent view overlooking the entire valley.  Restricted by very little as there are no dangerous animals to be wary of, you can explore every inch of our 2000 hectare property. As a result, we are an ideal location for young children to experience nature and make the most of wide-open spaces.

  • A mountain bikers paradise with currently over 60kms of trails of various degrees of difficulty in unspoilt and stunningly beautiful terrain with the only ‘traffic’ being the abundant herds of game and cattle on the farm. (Bring your own bike)

  • The area hosts a unique combination of bird species to thrill even the most avid birder. Some species include Knysna Loeries, Malachite Hum bird, Olive Bush-Shrike, Trumpeter Hornbill and many more occasional visitors and seasonal migrants.

  • Hot-air ballooning and Helicopter flips can be arranged. We are situated in The Beautiful Mpumalanga Province (“a place where the sun rises”) which is well known for its spectacular scenery, wild life and historical interest. Exciting day drives can be done to the nearby Historic towns, Barberton and Pilgrims Rest, both home to the South Africa’s historic Gold Rush era, also visit Graskop, Sabie and Swaziland, as well as the Kruger National Park.
